“Soft Quarantine” is a photography series taken during the period of my residency in TAOKS in 2020. Starting from the observation of homeless people’s living situation, I slowly turned to focus on the thin line between public and private territory, so to speak, “the Scenery of the Boundary.”
Cones, retractable barriers, fences, and multiple sizes of the “Do Not Enter” sign. These “Boundary Installations” define the legitimate spaces between we human beings, like magic circles or spells for social distancing.
During the residency, the covid pandemic begins. I try to get away from the crowd, gradually, on the street taking photos everywhere. These photos are the evidence of me keeping the social distancing through my camera.
